FAQ for JM Vacuum Concentrator
1. Unit fails to start / does not run
Troubleshooting: Check power connection and loose plug/socket; ensure emergency stop button is reset; confirm chamber door/safety switch is fully closed and locked; verify stable power supply (220V±10%).
Solution: Tighten or replace power components; reset emergency stop; securely close door; install voltage stabilizer.
2. Rotor not spinning / difficult rotation / unstable speed
Troubleshooting: Check balanced sample loading (weight difference ≤0.1g on each side); inspect for damaged centrifuge tubes or overfilling (>2/3 volume); check bearing lubrication/wear; verify drive connections and motor condition.
Solution: Rebalance symmetrically; replace qualified centrifuge tubes; clean, lubricate or replace bearings; tighten mechanical connections; service motor.
3. Abnormal noise / excessive vibration during operation
Troubleshooting: Loose rotor; worn bearings; unbalanced samples; instrument not level.
Solution: Tighten components; replace bearings; rebalance samples; adjust leveling feet.
4. Unable to reach target vacuum / cannot pull vacuum
Troubleshooting: Check vacuum pump oil level/quality (replace if degraded/contaminated); inspect seals (chamber, tubing, rotor lid) for aging/damage; check for leaks; ensure cold trap is not blocked by ice; verify pump function.
Solution: Replace pump oil; replace seals; leak test and repair; defrost and clean; service vacuum pump.
5. Large vacuum fluctuation / automatic pressure relief
Troubleshooting: Improper vacuum control parameters; poor sealing; degraded pump performance; incorrect program settings.
Solution: Optimize vacuum ramp settings; check sealing; maintain pump; reset program.
6. Vacuum insufficient alarm
Troubleshooting: Vacuum system leak; pump malfunction; cold trap failure; excessive sample/solvent vapor load.
Solution: Locate and repair leaks; service pump; pre-cool cold trap; reduce batch size.
7. Excessive sample temperature / overheating
Troubleshooting: Excessively high set temperature; faulty heating module; cold trap not operating/insufficient cooling; localized overheating from unbalanced samples.
Solution: Lower set temperature (≤30°C for temperature-sensitive samples); service heating module; activate cold trap; rebalance samples.
8. Sample bumping / splashing
Troubleshooting: Vacuum delay not enabled (vacuum applied before full speed); rapid vacuum ramp; high temperature; overfilled tubes.
Solution: Enable vacuum delay; reduce vacuum ramp rate; lower temperature; fill tubes ≤2/3 volume.
9. Low concentration efficiency / long processing time
Troubleshooting: Insufficient vacuum; low temperature setting; inappropriate rotor/sample loading; high boiling point solvents; contaminated chamber/cold trap.
Solution: Improve vacuum; optimize temperature; select suitable rotor; clean chamber/cold trap; use infrared-heated models for high-boiling solvents.
10. Low sample recovery / high loss
Troubleshooting: Splashing due to bumping; excessive vacuum/temperature; not pausing manually near dryness; cross-contamination.
Solution: Use anti-bumping settings; apply mild parameters; manually pause near dryness; wipe chamber with ethanol to prevent cross-contamination.
11. Program cannot be saved / recalled
Troubleshooting: Incorrect operation; faulty keypad; system error.
Solution: Follow instruction manual; service keypad; restart instrument.
12. Daily / holiday maintenance
Daily: Clean chamber with 75% ethanol after each use; regularly check pump oil and seals; defrost cold trap promptly.
Holiday: Thorough cleaning + defrosting; replace pump oil; disconnect power; leave chamber door slightly open; maintain environment 15–25°C, humidity <70%.
13. Display error / abnormal code
Troubleshooting: Refer to manual error codes (vacuum abnormality, over-temperature, motor fault, etc.); faulty sensor; system crash.
Solution: Troubleshoot per code; restart instrument; contact service (400-8030-186).
14. Warranty & after-sales service
Warranty: 1-year limited warranty; free repair/replacement parts during warranty; only parts charged beyond warranty.
15. Rotor / model selection guide
Rotors: Over 20 types; selected by tube size (1.5mL/15mL/50mL, etc.) and throughput (e.g., Auto R1 for 180×1.5mL).
Models: Ambient, refrigerated, high-throughput, cost-effective, basic, acid-resistant, infrared, etc.
16. Compatible solvents
Applicable: Water, methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, acetone and other common solvents.
